James Cook University (JCU) ranks in the top 400 universities worldwide. JCU Cairns has 9 car parks servicing over 4000 students. Holman Engineering designed and installed a parking guidance system to aid students and staff in efficiently finding available parking spaces. The system monitors vehicle movements at car park entries and exits to accurately calculate the available spaces and then displays this figure on signs that were installed throughout the campus. The system comprises of 18 LED displays, 12 count points, and 1127 total parking spaces. The count points and LED displays all use fibre optic technology to communicate with our TrafficNet server. The server stores all collected data on a central database which can be accessed by a user friendly web-based UI. The system is integrated with the CellOPark parking payment app and can easily communicate data with other 3rd party web-based services. Download : James Cook University - Cairns Campus |
