Sydney’s Olympic Park Aquatic Centre recently purchased new LED video scoreboards to display both advertising and scores.

Once the scoreboards were installed, there was a need to get the timing results up to the scoreboard very quickly. Holman Engineering was commissioned to develop a generic interface which would allow information from the Swiss Timing equipment (used for Swimming) to appear on the video boards as soon as the information was available.

The generic interface developed by Holman Engineering takes serial data from the Swiss Timing equipment and displays it on the videoboard. It is able to capture data and display the information at over 10 frames per second.
